Software for Student Riding Competitions |
|
|
Aquilo faciliates many of the office tasks during a student riding
competition: It maintains the data of riders and teams, generates
drawing lots, starter lists and differences for each round. Final
results can be calculated for different competition types and
displayed in various ways. Many of the rules
for CHIU/SRNC, WUEC and German CHUs are supported.
Given an arbitraty number of teams the program generates an
"empty" competition with typical settings for all rounds. These
round settings may be adapted to the organisers needs before the
round is started. Using Drag&Drop riders can be assigend to their
horses easily. During a round all affected differences are
automatically updated whenever a new result is entered.
All output is generated as HTML and automatically displayed in
your favorite webbrowser. The HTML file can be used for printing
or can directly be published on the internet.
Aquilo was programmed in my free time
and improved gradually by experience I gained doing
office work at student riding competitions since 1997.
Many organizers have used it succesfully in the last 5 years
and either there are no bugs or people were too lazy to
tell me...

Requirements
- PC/Laptop 128MB, 700MHz, 1024x786 Screen, running Windows 2000 or XP.
Internet Explorer 6.0 or Netscape 8.0 / Mozilla 1.7 / Firefox 1.5.
- Download the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (ver 1.5.0, 16.387 MB)
Some computers come with the JRE preinstalled and you can
use that installation. Check under "Control Panel" (Systemsteuerung) →
"Add or Remove Programs" (Software), if a version 1.4.0 or later is available.
- Download the progam itsself Aquilo0962Install.exe (239 KB, self extracting zip)
To assure compliance with future AIEC and DAR rules a version will work for a maximum of two years.
The 0.962 version will stop working 31. Aug 2011.
- For SRNCs see also below: Excel sheets for adding dressage and showjumping protocols.
Documentation
- AquiloHelp.html contains installation instructions and program documentation.
It is also included in the Aquilo file you can download above.
Report Bugs
- Don't grumble if the program is not working and forget about it! I know
everybody is stressed out after a competition but please, let me know your
problems. I very much depend on the studentrider community to improve
Aquilo.
Excel Sheets for adding Dressage and Showjumping Protocols
Also they have not been severely tested you might find these files useful.
Please check all formulas before you use them.
All sheets have gray areas which are write protected by default, so you can't by mistake change any formulas.
If you disable write protection for the sheet you can easily adopt it to another test.
The results of the sheets can usually be entered directly into Aquilo.
- CalcDressageProtocols.zip. A series of Excel sheets for adding up the movements of AIEC team and individual tests. They are also very useful as a template for any other dressage test.
- CalcShowjumpingProtocols.zip. AIEC showjumping protocols as Excel sheet, one rider per column, all side by side.
